Do you buy your dog’s treats from a licensed business?

Henry’s Barkalicious Dog Treats is LICENSED by the State of Florida to prepare and sell your dog their treats. I have been licensed from the very beginning, when I started this business in 2021.

I recently had my first inspection by the State of Florida Department of Agriculture. They are the state agency responsible for regulating the sale of animal feed in Florida.

Each registered treat business must submit to an inspection of the facility where the treats are prepared, as well as an inspection of the product and packaging.

Is the facility clean and free from rodent or other pest infestations? Do the labels provide laboratory-tested information about the nutritional quality of the dog treats? Are the ingredients listed properly? Is the consumer being advised of the amount of treats they are purchasing? Is there contact info in the event of an emergency? Those are the kinds of things the inspector is looking for.

If you are purchasing your treats from an unlicensed business, please rethink that decision. Your pup deserves the very best, most healthy treats and food products that you can provide. Don’t take chances with an unlicensed business. Always ask whether they are licensed.

If you’re in doubt, ask to see proof. I always have a copy of my license with me at my booth at the markets - not only my state license, but also my city and county business licenses as well.
