Summer’s almost over, but it’s not too late to make a yummy treat for your pup!
A delicious and fun way to celebrate the end of summer is making your dog's very own pup cup.
No trip to a drive-thru needed. It's super easy and avoids any of the chemicals in the prepared whipped topping products on the market.
What you need:
1 cup heavy whipping cream
1 Tbsp powdered sugar
Your pup's favorite toppings (optional)
What you do:
Place your whipping cream, a medium-sized glass bowl and your electric beaters in the freezer for 15 minutes.
Remove your items from the freezer. Pour the cold whipping cream into the chilled bowl. Add the powdered sugar.
Immediately whip on high speed with the chilled beaters until cream is thickened. Firm peaks should form when you raise the beaters.
Spoon or pipe whipped cream into your dog's favorite cup or bowl.
Serve immediately, or add your dog's favorite toppings such as:
Crushed Henry's Barkalicious Dog Treats
Blueberries
Grated carrots
Sprinkle of cinnamon
Drizzle of melted peanut butter
Unsweetened coconut
Diced apples
Crumbled bacon
Chopped strawberries
Pumpkin puree (NOT pumpkin pie filling)
Pro tip: Don't beat your cream for too long, or it will begin to turn into butter! The liquid left behind is called buttermilk.
If you do happen to take it too far, just add a little salt to your butter and enjoy it on a piece of your favorite bread. A nice little treat for you, too! But stick to the whipped cream for your pup - no butter for the fur baby.
Enjoy, and happy end-of-summer!
